Privacy and Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 26, 2026

Unified Networks (‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’) respects your privacy. This policy explains the information used by unifiednetworks.ie, the choices available to you, and how to contact us.

Information We Collect

  • Information you choose to submit through an enquiry form, including your name, phone number, town or Eircode, and any optional email or problem description.
  • If you use the Wi-Fi room checker, the router location you enter, your optional package speed, and the download speed and latency measured in each room. These readings stay in first-party browser storage unless you choose to submit the optional callback form. You see the result immediately and do not need to provide contact details.
  • A unique lead reference, the landing page, requested service and contact method, and campaign parameters such as UTM values.
  • Advertising click identifiers (gclid, gbraid, or wbraid) only when you allow Targeting Cookies.
  • When you start a WhatsApp conversation from this website, a short website-enquiry code is added to the prefilled message. We temporarily hold the originating page, service and campaign parameters for up to 90 days so the first message can be matched to the correct source. Advertising click identifiers are included only when Targeting Cookies were allowed. The temporary record is removed after a successful match.
  • Basic technical information that may be logged by our hosting and security providers when they deliver the website or receive a form.
  • Website usage information through Google Analytics only when you allow Performance Cookies.
  • Business messages you send to our WhatsApp Business number, including your phone number, WhatsApp profile name, message text and limited message or media metadata. We do not automatically download WhatsApp media into our office system.

How We Use Information

We use this information to respond to enquiries, arrange consultations and surveys, prepare installation scopes or quotes, deliver services, keep service and accounting records, and understand which marketing produces genuine customer enquiries.

The Wi-Fi room checker sends test requests from your browser to Cloudflare’s speed-test service only after you choose to start a test. Cloudflare receives technical information needed to deliver those requests, including your IP address. Unified Networks disables the library’s optional final-result logging. Room readings are used locally to build your comparison and are sent to us only if you submit the callback form. After the checker is opened online, its page files may be cached on your device so the open check and saved readings remain available through a temporary Wi-Fi dead zone. The speed measurement itself still requires an internet connection.

We keep a private operational register in Airtable containing enquiry, consultation, communication, survey, quote, job, invoice, payment, won or lost, and revenue outcomes. Private customer and job folders in Google Drive hold documents such as message logs, survey notes, quotes, job photos, supplier documents, invoices, payment records and handover information. Access is restricted to the owner of Unified Networks.

WhatsApp contacts are not automatically treated as sales leads. New contacts remain unclassified until the conversation is reviewed for business intent. A small private exclusion list is applied before storage so identified personal contacts are not copied into Airtable or Google Drive. Historical WhatsApp chats are not imported into this system.

When a WhatsApp conversation begins directly from an advertisement, Meta or YCloud may supply limited advertisement referral details such as the advertisement ID, headline and click-to-WhatsApp reference. We use these details to understand which advertising produces genuine enquiries.

Strictly Necessary Cookies are always active. Functional, Performance, and Targeting Cookies are off unless you choose to allow them. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using Cookie Settings in the website footer.

We use basic Google Consent Mode v2. Google Analytics and Google Ads tags remain blocked until the relevant category is accepted. If consent is withdrawn, the affected tags stop, known Analytics or Ads cookies are removed, and the page reloads to complete the change.

Advertising Measurement

When Targeting Cookies are allowed, Google Ads may measure confirmed form leads and calls made using a Google forwarding number. A website call is treated as a primary advertising conversion only when it reaches the configured minimum duration.

For enhanced conversions for leads, the email address or phone number supplied with an enquiry may be securely sent to Google after a confirmed form submission. Google normalises and hashes this information for matching. We do not send your name, message, town or Eircode to Google Analytics, and a form attempt is not recorded as a lead conversion unless the thank-you page is reached.

Survey booked and installation won outcomes may later be supplied to Google Ads from the private lead register. This lets us optimise campaigns for genuine work and actual revenue rather than clicks alone.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We use service providers including Netlify for website hosting, form delivery and secure webhook processing; Cloudflare to run speed-test requests that you start in the Wi-Fi room checker; Meta and WhatsApp for business messaging; YCloud as the integration provider that securely forwards new WhatsApp Business messages to our private office system; Airtable for our private enquiry, customer, communication and operations database; Google Drive for private business documents and message logs; Gmail for business correspondence; Google Analytics for optional performance measurement; and Google Ads and Google Data Manager for optional advertising measurement. Information may also be shared where required by law or where needed to deliver a service you request.

YCloud is based in Singapore and its services may involve storing or processing message data outside Ireland and the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we require the provider to use contractual and other safeguards required by applicable data-protection law. Meta, WhatsApp and the other providers listed above may also process information in countries described in their own privacy notices and contractual terms.

Data Retention

Unconverted enquiries and unclassified business-message threads are reviewed after 24 months and deleted or anonymised when they are no longer needed. WhatsApp message logs are reviewed with the related enquiry or customer record and are not kept longer than needed for service, dispute, accounting or legal purposes. Temporary unmatched website-to-WhatsApp attribution records expire after 90 days and are removed sooner after a successful match. Customer, job, invoice, payment and tax records are normally kept for at least six years where required for business and legal obligations. Netlify Forms remains a short-term recovery copy if an Airtable transfer fails and is reviewed and removed after successful reconciliation. Cookie retention periods are shown above.

Your Rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and can object to or restrict certain processing where the law provides. You may withdraw optional cookie consent at any time through the footer without affecting processing that took place before withdrawal.
